Range Policies
for
Instructors

  1. Instructor is required to exhibit the highest standards of customer service, reflective of our business brand. Courtesy, respect, fairness, humility, kindness, and service oriented attitude are expected attributes for Instructors operating at our business. Instructor shall demonstrate professional and courteous behavior when interacting with clients, CVSC customers and guests, CVSC staff, and other Instructors. Failure to meet this requirement will result in our revocation of this Authorization.

  2. The Instructor Authorization is revocable at any time and without notice, at the sole discretion of CVSC.

  3. This Instructor Authorization is not exclusive or limited to any one person or company.

  4. Any and all proposed changes or clarifications to any terms or policies related to this Authorization must be submitted to CVSC via email to Tom Ebert at info@coyoteclays.com

  5. Applicants must submit and maintain sufficient firearm instructor credentials in order to obtain CVSC’s Rifle/Pistol Range Authorized Instructor status, including certification as a range officer or range master.

  6. Prior to using CVSC Rifle/Pistol Range, Instructor is required to provide CVSC with a certificate of liability insurance, indicating coverage of at least $1,000,000 general liability, and naming CVSC as an additional insured under such policy.

  7. IN THE ABSENCE OF FRAUD, GROSS NEGLIGENCE, OR INTENTIONAL WRONGDOING ON THE PART OF CVSC, INSTRUCTOR COVENANTS AND AGREES TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS CVSC FROM ANY AND ALL EXPENSES, CLAIMS, DAMAGES, OBLIGATIONS, LIABILITIES, LOSSES, JUDGMENTS, DEMANDS AND/OR CHARGES OF ANY KIND OR NATURE WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING ATTORNEYS' FEES AND COURT COSTS, CVSC ACTUALLY AND REASONABLY INCURS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO INSTRUCTOR’S USE, AND THE USE BY INSTRUCTOR’S CLIENTS OR CUSTOMERS, OF CVSC’S RIFLE/PISTOL RANGE, WHETHER CAUSED BY THE ALLEGED NEGLIGENCE OF CVSC OR OTHERWISE.

  8. Authorized Instructors are bound by our Range Rules as posted at the range.

  9. Authorized Instructors are required to wear their CVSC Issued Instructor ID Credential at all times on the range so that the Instructor can be readily identified.

  10. It is Instructors responsibility to verify that everyone, including non-shooters, has signed CVSC’s Release of Liability and is checked in for the day, and that range fees are paid. We require that an electronic waiver be completed in the pro-shop; paper waivers may be substituted only when we are not open. Even with a current waiver on file, Instructor and all Instructor’s staff and all guests must have a waiver check-in at the pro-shop each day they visit our facility.

  11. Upon arrival, Instructor is responsible for inspecting the range condition and checking in with the front desk BEFORE the start of the class. Please notify the front desk if you observe brass on the ground, trash, any range issue or damage, especially to metal targets. Please report any problems with the front desk before leaving the facility. This simple effort is greatly appreciated and very helpful to us.

  12. Upon leaving, Instructor must ensure the range is left as it was found (brass picked up, cowboy props returned to their spot, targets put back, etc.). Cowboy Steel may be moved and left to the side of the stage (except for shotgun targets, please put these back if you move them).

  13. CVSC’s targets may only be used if shooters are using low velocity, lead, cowboy action loads. Instructors are liable for all bullet impact damage to our targets.

  14. CVSC strongly advises that any social media postings depicting instruction do not give viewers the impression that there is a pistol range open to the public onsite. Instructors should advise all students to exclude the “tagging” of our location, or any description that may lead viewers to conclude there is any allowance for pistol shooting at our location without participating in an instructor lead activity.

  15. Instructors must provide their own target stands and non-metallic targets.

  16. For Storage Authorization for targets, stands, portable sheds, or enclosed trailers, please submit written requests via email to info@coyoteclays.com for permission to leave specific items at the range.

  17. Donations of range equipment and materials and props are gratefully accepted. Please be advised that any items that are left at CVSC without Storage Authorization will be considered a donation and are the property of CVSC.

  18. Use of frangible ammunition is not allowed. Centerfire rifle shooting is allowed ONLY on paper targets.
